The Problem: Because 2020 was the worst year in existence, many events in around the world were canceled. Once such event that was scheduled to take place on February 21st in Tampa was the Gasparilla Half Marathon. I was registered to run this race as my first Half Marathon. I have filmed a little bit of every run that I’ve ran in preparation for this race and now I am left wondering if I can still do something with the footage and the canceled race….
The Question: Can I still run a half marathon on February 21st and still make it worth while?
The Answer: With your help we can. My goal is two part: 1) run 13.1094 miles (plus a little extra for good measure) on February 21st and 2) to raise $10,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of the Sun Coast while doing it.
The Ask: In addition to starting a fundraising page on GoFundMe, I would also like t local corporate businesses to sponsor a mile of the race for $500 - $1000. If I can find at least 10 corporate sponsors I feel confident that my goal of raising $10,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of the Sun Coast is achievable.
